Summer Discussion: You are invited!!

Dave Morse will be leading a summer discussion on The Gospel of Thomas. This will be a very informal, six-week discussion focusing on the sayings in The Gospel of Thomas conducted on ZOOM on Monday evenings (time TBA). This Gospel, part of the famous Nag Hammadi find in Egypt in the twentieth century, will supplement the teachings of Jesus as found in The New Testament. There is no text to buy since the Gospel of Thomas is available online. You just Google “The Gospel of Thomas.” It consists of 114 verses. The first week Dave will give an overview of the gospel, how it was discovered and what is its relationship to the gospels in our New Testament. Following that we will discuss various sections for the next five weeks. Since the Gospel of Thomas is totally sayings, parables, etc., you do not need to attend all sessions to participate. You can come in at any point.

This will be a simple, easy, hopefully informative, time to reflect. We will be using the method of “meditative reading,” which means we will not be looking for “correct answers,” but a reflection of what these parables might mean (i.e. say) to each of us. We can then share, learn and grow together. If you have questions, or wish to receive the link, please contact our Adult Coordinator, Dona Todarello, This email address is being protected from spambots.
