Safe Sanctuary

PA House Bill 435 was signed into law to increase protection for children and youth in Pennsylvania. This law requires all volunteers working with children and youth to have the following two clearances: The PA Criminal Record Check (Act 34) and the PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 33). The new law requires updates to clearances every three years.

Our policy is to require both clearances for all volunteers working with children and youth and for all church staff members, and to require the clearances to be updated every three years. Staff members are required to also get FBI clearances, as will new volunteers from out of sate.

We take our responsibility for the safety of our children and youth very seriously. To see our entire Safe Sanctuary Policy, click on the Safe Sanctuary tab under Children and Youth.
