Magi Project November 16 - December 7
This is an opportunity to give Christmas gifts to someone who may not otherwise receive much at this most awesome time of year. We will have trees with tags for children at Sunrise School who have special needs and a box to donate to Ward Home.
Our trees for Sunrise School will have tags with specific wish lists, as well as tags for $25 Target gift cards for older students to go shopping with their classes. We plan to provide for about 125 children! Sunrise School is one of 3 schools of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit which provides special education in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Sunrise serves students ages 5 to 21 and is located right here in Monroeville! Wrapped gifts and gift cards for Sunrise School need to be brought back to the church by December 7.
There will also be a box for cash or check donations to Ward Home. a human services non-profit. Ward Home's Supervised Independent Living program (SIL) is a community-based, residential program serving young people ages 16-21 in apartment-style housing under 24 hour supervision. They may be transitioning out of foster care or juvenile justice systems. Emphasis is placed on developing social and life skills, obtaining employment and/or volunteer work, completing an education plan, staying safe and having healthy relationships. It provides a safe, nurturing home environment where the youth are encouraged to grow into successful, independent members of the community. Learn more: https://www.auberle.org/ward-home
You may, also, send donations to the church - making sure you indicate “MAGI Project.” Our Outreach Ministry will use the money to provide gifts for Sunrise School or donations to Ward Home.
