MUM in Mission

MUM Mission Outreach November 2017-November 2018

Throughout the year MUM's Holy Hands quilters give several people warm "hugs" from MUM in the form of prayer quilts blessed during worship servIces as well as hand sewn bears for new babies.

Groups from MUM provide dinner at the EECM Homeless Shelter every other month.

December 3, 2017 - The congregation prepared Christmas Cards for those in need of love and an encouraging word during Share the Love Sunday.

December 10 - Our Confirmation Class prepared and served dinner for the people at the east End Cooperative Ministries Shelter in East Liberty.

Our Christmas Offering of $3,089 was divided among The St. Vincent DePaul Society, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on relief) for national disaster relief (for example, flooding, hurricanes, wild fires), and UMCOR for international disaster relief.

January, 2018 -  We donated, sorted and delivered over 100 new and gently used coats, and many, many scarves, hats and gloves for the Garden City Food Pantry for our monthly Share the Love Sunday.

 February 4, 2018 - The Youth raised funds through the Souper Bowl Sunday fandraiser for their summer mission trip.

March 2018 - 80 bags of fruit in bags were distributed to the clients of the Garden City Food Pantry.

March Share the Love Sunday featured opportunies to learn about missionaries and support them through letters of encouragement and donations.

April 2018 - The Youth volunteered at Animal Friends and took food, toys and other supplies donated by the congregation.

The April "Good as New" used book sale earned $1,146.75 for United Methodist Women Missions. 24-year total for missions $29,566.79.

Our Easter offering of $2,625 was distributed to Garden City Food Pantry and UMCOR US Disaster Relief.

At our May 6 Share the Love Sunday 2018 the Congregation provided supplies to the Free Clinic at the Monroeville Assembly of God Church.

The United Methodist Women earned $1,335 for mission projects through the Flea Market in June.

Our VBS families donated a large amount of canned good to the Garden city Food Pantry in June.

Our Youth and leaders went on a Mission Trip in July to the Jumonville/Connellsville area through Uth4Mission.

Our Outreach Ministry sent $570 to the church Conference Center to provide cleaning buckets and hygiene kits.

On October 7, 2018 we assembled and sent 25 UMCOR cleaning buckets to help those impacted by flooding and hurricanes.

In October 2018 we participated in the EECM Coat Drivecand sent 3 large bags full of coats to East End Cooperative Ministries.

Our Chili Cook-Off in October contributed $530 to the Garden City Food Pantry.

November 4 - The congregation sent cleaning supplies to a Veterans' organization

 

The UMW made over $800 for missions through the Apple Pie Sale in November.

 

Magi Project gifts in November 2018 were delivered to over 150 students at Sunrise School for Exceptional Children and East End Cooperative Ministries in time to help with a Merry Christmas. Monetary donations were sent to the Ward Home for at-risk youth

 

Our Thanksgiving Offering  was given to help send our youth to summer church camps.

 

 

MUM Cares

Our Outreach Team collects donations of food and supplies on the second Sunday for the Garden City Food Pantry. What a joy to see our shopping cart overflowing each month.

 

  SHARE THE LOVE

For November 2018 Our Share the Love will donate cleaning supplies to veterans' organization.

 

 

Handicap AccessibleWe  welcome persons with disabilities. Our parking lot has several reserved spaces  and the building is universally accessible through automated doors. Our  sanctuary and most other rooms are wheelchair accessible; we have available,  upon request, amplified hearing devices as well as large print Bibles and  Hymnals.
