MUM Mission Outreach November 2016 - November 2017
Throughout the year MUM's Holy Hands quilters give several people warm "hugs" from MUM in the form of prayer quilts blessed during worship servIces as well as hand sewn bears for new babies.
Groups from MUM provide dinner at the EECM Homeless Shelter every other month.
Our Christmas offering of $4,911.53 was distributed among UMCOR International and U.S. Relief and the Connellsville Area Community Ministries.
Winter hats, gloves, scarves and hats were distributed at the Garden City Food Pantry in January 2017.
Lent Collections for Garden City Food Pantry though MUM cares.
The April "Good as New" used book sale earned $1,248.71 for United Methodist Women Missions.
82 bags of fruit in bags decorated by our Sunday School Students were distributed on Maundy Thursday in April 2017 to the clients of the Garden City Food Pantry.
Our Easter offering was distributed to Bethany House, UMCOR and Imagine No Malaria.
The Youth volunteered at Animal Friends in May and took food, toys and other supllies donated by the congregation.
The United Methodst Women earned $690.28 for mission projects through the Flea Market in June.
VBS families donated to the food pantry in June.
October 1, 2017 - The entire congregation participated in Share the Love Sunday and assembled and donated 188 Health Kits to the Eastbrook Mission Barn.
The congregation sent over $2,000 to UMCOR for Hurricane relief.
November 5 - The congregation prepared and sent 38 Cleaning Buckets to the Eastbrook Mission Barn for distribution through UMCOR
Magi Project gifts in December2017 were delivered to Sunrise School for Exceptional Children and East End Cooperative Ministries in time to help with a Merry Christmas. Monetary doantions were sent to the Ward Home for at-risk youth
Our Thanksgiving Offering was given to help send our youth to summer church camps.
December 3 - The congregation prepared Christmas Cards for those in need of love and an encouraging word.
December 10 - Our Confirmation Class prepared and served dinner for the people at the east End Cooperative Ministries Shelter in East Liberty.
December 31-January 7 we are collecting new and gently used coats, scarves hats and gloves for the Garden City Food Pantry for all ages and sizes.
Our Christmas Offering will be divided among The St. Vincent DePaul Society, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on relief) for national disaster relief (for example, flooding, hurricanes, wild fires), and UMCOR for international disaster relief.
Our Outreach Team collects donations of food and supplies on the second Sunday for the Garden City Food Pantry. What a joy to see our shopping cart overflowing each month.
