LIttle Free Library

In 2009 the First Little Free Library was built in Hudson, Wisconsin and placed in the front yard of Todd Bol. On it was a sign that read “FREE BOOKS.”

The original models were built with recycled materials. Each was unique but all shared the theme of exchanging good books and bringing people together for something positive.

The Mission is:

*To promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide.

*To build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across

The Key Strategies are: The promotion of reading for children, literacy for adults, and libraries around the world.

The MUM Little Free Library has been registered on the World Map of Little Free Libraries.

The concept of a Little Free Library was first presented to the Deborah Circle. When the Lit Lovin’ Ladies Book Club was started, they decided that they would like to sponsor a Little Free Library and be its stewards. Two of the members of the book club, Tammi Bentley and Lori Hughes, volunteered to build the library and they have done a beautiful job.

Mum’s Little Free Library has been installed outside of the parking lot door (our back door) on the left hand side when you are facing the building. There, it will have very good handicapped access and good lighting.

The books are available to anyone in our “community” who likes to read. There is no charge for the books. You are asked to leave a book or return a book when you take one.

You can find out more about Little Free Libraries by going to:

Handicap AccessibleWe  welcome persons with disabilities. Our parking lot has several reserved spaces  and the building is universally accessible through automated doors. Our  sanctuary and most other rooms are wheelchair accessible; we have available,  upon request, amplified hearing devices as well as large print Bibles and  Hymnals.
