Memory Café

Cancelled until further notice

3rd Thursdays Monthly, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

MUM is hosting a monthly coffee and discussion "Memory Cafe" held by Arden Courts sponsored by Adult Ministries. Jeanni Watson is the facilitator. Memory Cafés are designed to provide support for people with dementia and their caregivers in an informal setting. Originally started in England, this informal setting provides the caregiver a forum for discussion, reducing the isolation often felt by people with dementia, their caregivers and families. Discussions can range from practical tips for coping with dementia, avoiding caregiver burnout or information about community resources. There is no cost or obligation, and many attendees develop friendships that result in support even outside the Memory Cafe setting. Refreshments will be provided. Additional questions? Please call: 412-380-1300.

 Taizé Service

Will resume on September 9 via Facebook (virtually only)

Silence & Singing, Shadow & Candlelight, Prayer & Reflection

Taizé worship is an ecumenical sung and silent prayer service designed to achieve a contemplative space through songs, Scripture, prayer, silence and candlelight. The sanctuary is beautifully designed just for Taizé and features soft lighting, flowing fabric and many candles. The music, which is contemplative in nature, emphasizes simple one or two line phrases usually from the Psalms, other passages of Scripture or liturgy. Short chants are repeated over and over again to give the service a contemplative atmosphere. The service includes a time of prayers. Taizé provides a time at the end of the day to relax from the stress of the day’s activities. It offers a time for worship and reflection, a time for calming the body and the mind. In the silence God’s word can reach the hidden corners of our hearts, and the light of Christ can reach, heal, and transform us. Join us as we experience this beautiful service!
